From Wikipedia: "Tarifa is a small town on the southernmost coast of Spain. It is part of the province of Cádiz, which, in turn, is part of the Andalusia region. The town is located on the Costa de la Luz ("coast of light") and across the Straits of Gibraltar from Morocco, from which the lights of Tarifa are visible at night. The municipality includes Punta de Tarifa, the southernmost point in continental Europe."
Tarifa a Mecca for wind & kite surfers because it is, yes you guessed it, windy! There are also dozens of wind turbines dotted all over the mountains. The drive from Gibraltar to Tarifa is amazing, there is a little cafe overlooking the Straits of Gibraltar towards Morocco, on a clear day you can quite clearly see the town of Cueta in Morocco.
